Helping with Chili Cook-off for United Way

I hope you enjoyed your Labor Day weekend. We had steaks on the grill with baked potatoes. Yummy! I love the recent cool mornings for my prayer walk. My wife Shannon has been substitute teaching pretty regularly and has been enjoying the experience. She has a new appreciation for our teachers!

Our Senior Luncheon will be Saturday, September 19 at 11:30. The sign-up deadline is THIS Sunday (September 13), so RSVP at the Information Table or e-mail Jacque (, if you haven’t already.

Eight to Eat, scheduled for 6:30pm Friday, September 18, will be fun. Sign-up to fellowship with 6-7 new friends at your house and make the main dish or just attend at the host’s home and bring a side or dessert. Host locations will coordinate the menu. Sign-up deadline is this Sunday and forms are at the Information Table or let Jacque know your attendance plans.

We will be selling jewelry for our friends in Thailand for two more weeks. ALL of the profits go straight to paying the salary of the women rescued from sex traffickers. As a church, we do not make a profit.

I could use two or three people to help me make my award winning chili for the Chili Cook-Off downtown on September 26th. The proceeds of the Cook-Off benefit the United Way and it exposes our church to hundreds of people that day. You can reach me at: to coordinate details.

I love being your Pastor! Have a GREAT week!
