Pastor's Update 7/3/19

Hello,

I pray that your week is going well and that you have a great time tomorrow with friends and family celebrating American independence. We will probably stick around the house. Our  neighbors do a fantastic job each year putting on a fireworks display.

If your small group is interested in passing our free popsicles at local parks, please let me know and we will help make it happen.

Four of our kids will be heading off to Camp Good News this coming Monday in Hutch. Tyler will be a counselor and the three others will be campers. They really enjoy it. Serving as a camp counselor many years ago in Western, Pennsylvania is where I discerned my calling to be a Pastor. Some powerful things happen at Christian camps.

I am looking for a volunteer to take some pizzas and sodas to the Burrton Church this Saturday, July 6th. They will be serving at the Burrton festival all day and will be hungry around 6pm. Let me know if you are interested and I will give you more details.

I look forward to see you this Sunday at church. I love being your Pastor!

Have a GREAT week!

Pastor's Update 6/25/19

Hello,

I hope you are having a great week so far. Not too bad on my end. I am enjoying the weather and the break in thunderstorms. My dog, Lilly, has a difficult time with storms which means that Shannon or I have to stay up with her if they come during the night (which they typically do). She is a good dog though. She is a Golden Doodle and loves people! If you stop by our place, she will love all over you. Not sure how many more years we will have with her. She is already 13.

Don't forget to bring a desert or side to this Sunday's Fellowship Dinner. After the dinner, we will have our mid-year business meeting. Child care will be provided.

We are still collecting popsicles for our park popsicle giveaway. You can bring them on Sunday and take them to the freezer located in the kitchen. Thank you so much!!

How is your Bible reading coming along? Be sure to stick with it and make it what you do every day! Come up with a good plan and work it. I am reading through the Bible this year.

I can't wait to see you on Sunday! I love being your Pastor! Keep me updated and let me know if there is anything I can pray for.

Have a GREAT day!

We need lots of popsicles!! Our community outreach team is organizing a popsicle giveaway at different parks throughout this summer. You can bring them this Sunday and put them in the freezer.

Our next fellowship meal and mid-year business meeting will take place on Sunday, June 30th after the 2nd service. You can bring a side/dessert to share.

Pastor's Update 6/11/19

Hello!

I hope your week of prayer and fasting is off to a good start. Don't forget that prayer is the real work that moves God and impacts others. It will be tough and challenging but stay with it. I am so proud of you!

Nathan is away at Life Change Camp this week in Clinton, Missouri with his friend from church/school, Ellie. Pray that they grow closer to God more than ever before. Shannon and I will go and pick him on Friday. We can't wait to hear about all of the great things they did all week.

I had one spot become available for our 24 hours of prayer this Friday/Saturday. It is from 1pm until 2pm on Friday here at the church. You will be by yourself in the sanctuary praying for the list of requests at the back table. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks!

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday! I love being your Pastor!

Have a GREAT week!

Pastor's Update 6/5/19

Hello!

Wow, May was a busy month and it's hard to believe that it's over already. It was so nice having Shannon's mom and my parents with us for the week. I miss them already. I also miss my oldest daughter, Christina, who is currently with my parents but heading to the East Coast with Shannon's mom this weekend.

Tyler is busy working three jobs this summer. Michelle is involved in softball and hanging out with neighborhood friends. Alex and Nathan are busy competing in the Wichita Hoops summer league. Shannon and I are hoping to paint our entire house this summer (inside and out).

Please email me your prayer requests for next week's 24 hours of prayer.

I look forward to seeing you this weekend. Have a Great week!

I love being your Pastor!

Hello!

I hope that you had a great Memorial Day weekend with friends and family. I know that we did. My mother in law, Gale, flew back to New Jersey yesterday and my parents will be driving back to Pennsylvania on Saturday. They will be taking our oldest daughter, Christina, back with them. She will be there a week and will then head to New Jersey for the rest of the summer. She is excited!

Please email me your prayer requests for our 24 hours of prayer coming up on June 14th here at the church. We will have people praying at the church from 7am on Friday until 7am on Saturday. We do this at least once a year and it's very powerful and life changing.

I can't wait to see you this weekend at church! Have a GREAT week!

I love being your Pastor!

Pastor's Update 5/21/19

Hello!

It is safe to say that I will not be running outside today. Too wet and rainy. I think that there is an end in sight. I might be able to get out tomorrow.

This weekend, our oldest son, Tyler, will be graduating from High School (Life Prep Academy). At last night's award ceremony he was given the Most Inspirational Award for football for the fourth straight year. After giving him the award they announced that starting next year, they will be renaming it the Tyler Bungard award. Very cool. We are so proud of his positive attitude and impact.

My parents and Shannon's mom will be in town this weekend. My dad will be preaching for me this Sunday. He has been preaching for over 50 years. I really hope you and your family can make it out to hear him.

We have had robust sign ups for the financial seminar (taking place on May 29th) and the Run for God group (starting July 10th). You can sign up for both this weekend at church downstairs at the Welcome Center in the Connection Cafe.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday! Stay dry and have a GREAT week!

I love being your Pastor!

Pastor's Update 5/14/19

Hello!

Wow, these last few days have been beautiful. We had a great Mother's Day weekend at the Bungard's. On Friday, I took Shannon to the Olive Garden for an Italian feast. On Sunday, before her much deserved 3 hour nap, I made her a steak dinner with a side of Asparagus (one of her favorites). I also bought her a delicious cheesecake from Eli's Bakery in Chicago. Tyler bought her some roses and the other kids bought her some goodies from Dollar Tree. Over-all, I think she had a great weekend!

Please take advantage of the free financial seminar that will be held here at FBC on Wednesday, May 29th at 6pm. Dinner will be served. Brian Donnely, Bank of the West Manager, will be leading it.

Two of my kids, Tyler and Christina, will be performing this weekend in their school play. They are doing Alice and Wonderland. It will be held this Friday at 7pm in the Newman University Auditorium. Should be exciting!

I can't wait to see you on Sunday! I love being your Pastor!

Have a GREAT week!

Pastor's Update 5/7/19

Hello!

I missed you at church on Sunday. I accomplished my goal this year of running a 1/2 marathon under 2 hours. The exact time was 1:48:55. I will probably do it again. I enjoyed this kind of race. I am taking a few days off to recover and plan to be back on the road this Thursday. I watched Steve Vermillion's message on Monday. He did a fantastic job! Wow! It was so good!

My Son, Tyler, arrives home from his mission trip to Honduras sometime after midnight tonight. We were able to speak with him a few times while he was away but looking forward to hearing about it all when he returns. We are so proud of him!

Mothers day is this Sunday! Our Women's ministry put together a special gift for all women to be distributed after the service.

You can sign up this Sunday at the Welcome Center for our next Partnership class. It will be held on Sunday, May 19th right after the service. Food and childcare will be provided. It will last one hour.

I can't wait to see you on Sunday! I love being your Pastor!

Have a GREAT week!

Pastor's Update 4/20/19

Hello!

Shannon and I dropped Tyler off late last night for his mission trip to Honduras. We just got word that they arrived safely. Please keep him (and the team) in prayer during this next week.

It finally become official today that my younger brother, Chad, was just nominated by President Trump to be vice-chair of the Merit Systems Protection Board. His next step is to be confirmed before a committee (which can be brutal). Please keep him in prayer. I will keep you posted.

Well, the time has finally arrived for me to run the 1/2 marathon (13.2 miles) that I have been training for. I am hoping to dip under 2 hours. I am running it this coming weekend in Wichita.

If you would like to become a Partner at FBC, our next class will be on Sunday, May 19th right after church. Lunch will be provided and childcare is available. Please sign up in the Connection Cafe at the Welcome Center. The class will take one hour.

Have a GREAT week! I love being your Pastor!
