Pastor's Update 4/23/19

Hello!

I hope that you had a great Easter with friends and family. We did something different this year after church. Instead of putting together a big meal at the house, I took the family out to eat. We went to Cheddars! It was delicious. After preaching two services, it was nice not to have to worry about cooking and cleaning.

My oldest son, Tyler, heads out for Honduras next Tuesday on a mission trip with his school. They will be cleaning, working and doing various activities with kids in the area. Please keep him in prayer. He will be gone for a week. A big "thank you" to those who supported him financially!

Many of you have asked about becoming partners of FBC. We have our next class scheduled for Sunday, May 19th. It will be right after church. Food and child care will be provided. It will take an hour. Please sign up on Sunday at the Welcome Center in the Connection Cafe.

I can't wait to see you on Sunday! I love being your Pastor! Have a GREAT week!

Hello,

I hope you can join us this Friday at 7pm for our Good Friday service. Childcare will be provided.

My son, Tyler, has made his college decision and plans to attend Calvary University this fall. It is located in the Kansas City area. As many of you already know, time really flies on by. It's hard to believe. We are so proud of him!

We will have a photo opportunity available for your family to take pictures before and after the service. It will be in the back of the sanctuary. Our Connection Cafe will be open from 10:30 - 11:00.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday! If you bring guests, be sure to introduce them to me.

I love being your Pastor! Have a GREAT week!

Pastor's Update 4/9/19

Hello!

The boys (Nathan and Alex)and I hit a deer Sunday night in Wichita on route 254. Pretty scary. I didn't see it until I hit it. Unfortunately, they will probably total the car but it's not official yet. None of us were hurt just shaken up a bit and we have some burns from the air bags.

We will be having baptisms on Easter Sunday. If you have trusted in Jesus as your Savior and have not yet gone public with baptism, please contact me soon and we will get it scheduled. You can pick the service you want to be baptized.

Tyler and Christina have their proms this weekend! I am sure that Shannon will post pictures on facebook.

Be sure to send me your prayer requests.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday! I love being your Pastor! Have a GREAT week!

Pastor's Update 4/2/19

Hello!

I am writing this email from my kitchen table while my savory sausage is cooking on the stove top. I woke the kids up once but only Tyler is here at the table with me. So, I will have to make my rounds again soon to ensure on time arrival at school. I will be back soon. I'm back! I think they are up now. The sense of urgency in my voice helped.

We will be having baptisms again this year on Easter Sunday. If you have trusted in Jesus as your Savior and have not yet gone public with baptism, then Easter Sunday would be the ideal time to do it. Let me know if you are interested.

Our Good Friday church service will take place on Friday, April 19th at 7pm. Childcare is available.

This Sunday, I will talk to you about dangerous decisions. I think it will be helpful. In fact, life is full of decisions that can either make or break us.

I can't wait to see you on Sunday! I love being your Pastor!

Have a GREAT week!

Pastor's Update 3/26/19

Hello!

We will be having a Good Friday service on Friday, April 19th to reflect on the death of Jesus. It will start at 7pm and will end at 8pm. This service has been well attended and received these past few years that we have had it. Please plan to attend with your family.

If you have trusted in Jesus as your Savior and have not yet been baptized. We plan to have baptisms on Easter Sunday, April 21st. Let me know if you are interested.

Shannon and I recently saw the movie, Run the Race. It was very good and we highly recommend it. It is a faith based movie that is produced by Tim Tebow.

Not sure if you picked up on the fact that for the past month or two, I have not done a sermon series. Every week has been a stand alone message. I was getting too predictable so I decided to mix things up a bit. You will have to come out this Sunday to discover this week's message.

Have a GREAT week! I love being your Pastor!

Pastor's Update 3/12/19

Hello,

Please don't forget to move your clocks up one hour this weekend. It's time to spring forward. Hopefully the weather will do the same. It's hard to believe that Spring Break is next week too. We are planning to get away for a few days as a family. We are looking forward to it.

We will have baptisms again this year on Easter Sunday! We are hoping that this becomes a tradition that started last year. If you have trusted in Jesus as your Savior and want to go public in baptism, let me know. I will meet with you to discuss the details.

We won one out of the three games we played last week in our basketball tournament in McPherson. If it's any consolation, we lost both games by only three points each. Tough losses but lots of fun.

For those of you interested in becoming partners here at FBC, we will be announcing the date soon for our next class.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday! Have a GREAT week!

I love being your Pastor!

Pastor's Update 2/26/19

Hello!

This brutal cold week means many laps around the YMCA track. Boring. But, it's moments like these that my commitment and dedication come into play. I will see this through. I will prevail. I have about 2 months of training left.

Our basketball tournament was postponed last week in McPherson because of the  snow storm that blanketed the area. It has been rescheduled to this Saturday, March 2nd. I like our chances. We have been practicing well and have a chance to go far and even win the tournament.

I was able to surprise Michelle at school for lunch on Monday. She was shocked. I brought her McDonalds and a Frappe. I hid the Caramel Frappe in my bag and pulled it out at the lunch table. Lots of fun!

I can't wait to see you at church this Sunday! If you bring guests, be sure to introduce them to me!

I love being your Pastor! Have a GREAT week!

Hello!

Shannon and I went to the Red Lobster for Valentines Day! She loves it there. It's been a while since we were last there. I love their Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Yummy! Those things are dangerous!! (But delicious)

On Sunday, the Youth Group collected around $4600 at their dessert auction. I think that's a record. Thank you so much for supporting our youth. Proceeds will go towards their mission trip this summer. They will be heading to an Indian Reservation in Arizona.

My boys have their last basketball tournament of the winter season this Saturday. The tournament is in McPherson. I think we will be pretty competitive with the other teams.

Keep Shannon in prayer. She is speaking at the Women's Retreat on Friday night. She has spent many hours prepping for this important message. I am very proud of her.

I can't wait to see you on Sunday! I love being your Pastor! Have a GREAT week!
